All America Bank opened its doors December 22, 1969 as First Mustang State Bank. Gary Huckabay struggled for two years trying to get a charter approved for a bank in Mustang. His charter was denied by the State Banking Board, on claims that Mustang couldn't support a bank. The First National Bank of Yukon objected to the charter, claiming they were giving adequate service to Mustang residents. At that time only 25% of Mustang citizens banked in Yukon, while 83% said they would support a Mustang Bank. An Oklahoma Supreme Court reversed the decision of the State Banking Board to deny charter for the First Mustang State Bank, marking the first time a decision by the State Banking Board had ever been reversed.
Gary Huckabay, bank president, has been in banking all his life. In 1935, Gary’s father became one of Oklahoma’s youngest bank presidents at the age of 27. Everyone in Gary’s family since his dad has been in some kind of banking. The Huckabay family owns three Oklahoman banks - All America Bank in Mustang, Bank of the Wichita’s in Snyder, and Southwest State Bank in Sentinel.
The lobby at All America Bank is the original First Mustang State Bank building. The bank has seen changes through the years. The south section of the bank was built in the summer of 1982 to allow for growth within the bank and all interiors were remodeled in 2005.
